Breeding conditions:

Only one or two Snowy Owls and two to five Pomarine Skuas were recorded along a 10 km transect in this area. Arctic Foxes did not breed and were scarce, (less than one animal per 10 km transect).
 

Rodent dynamics:

In the western part of the Vankarem Lowland, in the lower Ekvyvatap region (30 km to the east of the Schmidt Cape), lemmings were not found.
